Account deletion
Delete your account,
and everything in it.
Deleting is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery step and no waiting period.
From inside the app
The fastest way, and the one we recommend.
Steps
Open Read the Room. Go to the You tab, then Settings. Choose Delete account, and confirm.
What gets deleted
Your profile — display name, age range, country and avatar. Your entire gameplay history: daily answers, streak, points, prediction accuracy and badges. Your league memberships. Your push notification token, if you had reminders on. Your sign-in link to Google or Apple, if you had one.
What does not get deleted
If you submitted a take that was approved and shown to other players, that take may stay in the game. Nothing links it to you once your account is gone — the connection between you and it is removed along with your account.
How long it takes
Immediately. Deletion cascades through our database as a single operation, and your device is signed out as soon as it completes. We keep no backup copy of a deleted account.
Can't get into the app?
If you've lost access to your device or your sign-in, email hello@getreadtheroom.app from the address linked to your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm it's you, delete the account, and reply to confirm — within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
